I've got a dx tranny on my d16z6 and i am going to be boosted very soon, I know that a ex/si trans will provide better acceleration but can I get away with using the dx for awhile or is it just going to suck *** with that long of gears? is or has anyone used or using this tranny w/ boost and like it? I need to figure this out before I throw the snail under my hood, any experience would be greatly appriciated
Thanks a bunch

I've been in the same car with both Si and Dx trannies. Both seem to be about the same, I thought for sure the Dx would be slower, but the Si spins second where the Dx has alot more tractions. Either way I don't think your going to feel a big difference.

I thought that the ex/si was way shorter than cx/dx, maybe I am wrong? @ 7k rpm in 2nd gear with the dx is 85mph, isn't the si closer to 60 mph @ that point?
thanks

I have ran both and definately did not like the dx tranny. Fist and second on the dx were okay and did not spin as easily but after 3rd and 4th gear on the dx tranny the car felt so slow. The ex tranny keeps pulling a lot harder in 3rd and 4th gear.

Yes, the ex/si tranny is shorter then the dx/cx one. Like I said, I personally didn't notice the difference between the ex/si tranny and the Dx one. But it's been said numerous times on here that any engine that likes to rev, needs teh shorts gears possible, no matter if it's FI and NA. So if possible, get/fix the EX/Si tranny.

running the dx for a couple months now as a temp and i'm about to throw in my ex/si after i get a new clutch. the dx falls on its face after first and second. you'll especially notice it at the track. it's nice for highway cruising tho.
