Default another engine bites the dust

Well i said goodbye to another engine yesterday. I believe i spun a rod bearing. The engine now goes "clank clank clank" instead of the normal bla bla WWISSHHH (from the turbo). It has been a good engine. I bought it with 98k miles from Jerome Soh from sohfast for super cheap and have put about 45,000 miles on the engine.

To its record i havent done anything to it since i bought it only put oil and change the filter once or twice.

Some of the amazing feats the little d16z6 that could has done.

Smoked most v8's and a few supercharged mustangs/camaros and just about anything else
Seen 15-16psi with only 104 octane gas (stock timing, and internals)
Had a "daily driven" boost setting of 12-13psi
Driven to california three times, and oregon once (i live in colorado) straight at high speed
Taught my girlfriend to drive stick on that engine
Overheated 100 times
Never ever broke down..not even once..and she *always* got me home
Ran a best 13.6 @ 105 at 5400 feet in colorado with 15psi (two weeks ago)

So with all that said..i say good bye to my 94 d16z6. I have two other blocks and enough spare parts to build another engine which will be the 4th engine in my car this year!!

*liam has a moment of silence for the engine*

don't you feel like something's wrong here ? did you ever have any of your motor tuned? 4 engines in a year is alot. Your lucky those motors only cost what like 100 bucks?

Wow, that is kinda crazy. 45,000 miles, you must drive a hell of a lot. A said above, it is good these motors are cheap!!! Do you plan to change the setup as far the tuning is concerned? Possibly build the bottom end? I know the bottom end doesn't necessarily have to be built as long as the tuning is excellent, the motor should last. 94 D16Z6, RIP.

I think we know why it blew:
..have put about 45,000 miles on the engine....To its record i havent done anything to it since i bought it only put oil and change the filter once or twice......Seen 15-16psi with only 104 octane gas (stock timing, and internals)
Had a "daily driven" boost setting of 12-13psi....Taught my girlfriend to drive stick on that engine.....Overheated 100 times
any questions?

naw naw. I bought this engine 2 years ago and have put 45,000 on the engine since then. Ealier this year i pulled the motor out of a build block and it sat in my garage for 9 months. My built block did go because i blew a vacuum line at high boost, not because i didnt have it tuned right. So since i wanted a car and i didnt have the eclipse yet, i installed this old engine. It had alot of miles and i was pushing it really hard.

I was expecting it to die.
