All 6 puck clutch users...Please post...
I have some questions for you all...
- Which clutch do you have exactly?
- How many miles have you put on it?
- How hard do you drive (rough estimate)?
- How do you launch at the track?
- Any Mechanical breakage issues?
Please fill me in with the info... I am deciding whether or not I should get a full carbon disk for my new setup, or just stick with my current Action 6 puck. I am 98.45% sure that my 6 puck disk + full clutch drop at 5000rpm at the track is what killed my input bearing in my tranny.
Thank you in advance
Bryson

ACT 6 puck disc with ACT atreet/strip pressure plate
i have put about 25,000 miles on it
i don't really drive too rough but i will race it every now & then
have never been to the track with it
i haven't had any breakage with it but i am taking it & my TODA flywheel out
and going with a street/strip disc & pressure plate from ACT
with a Clutchmasters flywheel
hopefully this will make the car more tolerable in city driving conditions

i had an act xt-r6 in my ls/vtec turbo hatch about 3 years ago...used to street race it all of the time, launch around 2500 or so....i launched it about 6000 rpms on 24.5x8.5x13 slicks and the slicks didnt spin and the clutch didnt slip a few times...i than sold it to a kid in my town after putting about 15,000 maybe more miles...he is still drivin it today and it doesnt slip..it used to chirp 5th gear when i had it in my car, but i dont think it will do that anymore, as it is used and abused. great clutch though..gotta get used to the chatter.
maybe your bearing was just old.

hmmmm...at the moment i'm using a cheapo ClutchNet sprung 6puck disk w/stock pressure plate and ITR flywheel. grips nicely w/a stock feel. i was really thinking about putting on my CM stage 3 but i like this cheap setup alot right now since i'm not doing any racing at the moment anyway.
oh yeah, if i launch too hard it feels like the whole car is about to fall apart!! i grips GOOD!!

I have a 6 puck clutchnet stage 2.
I have had it for about 6 months, broken in properly.
Do not like it. Pedal is way too soft, feels like stock. I guess that is a good thing for some people. Like to make funny noises at me and one time I had BAD slippage. The funny thing is it happened for 1 day, but fixed itself the next day. I could not rev past 4000 without it slipping on me. Its fine now though.
I would not recomend this clutch. importparts gave it away for free with turbo kits for a reason.....
This is my personal experience. Others may differ.
