Alcohol and water injection....
Anyone know of any good, reliable kits??? Maybe even DIY's....I am going to be running moderatelly high compression (10:1) in a somewhat street driven car and am looking into all otions to help prevent detonation....I have heard of the Auquamist but it seems really pricey.......are there any others??? I was looking at this one.... http://home.att.net/~stevemon/AlcoholInjMod.html What do you all think???? There are also links at the bottom of the page for other sites as well..... Thanks for looking,

Just make sure its reliable and have some means to know when you have reached your knock threshold.

If your worried about knock you might wanna look into a j&s safegaurd. this unit is huge in the rotary world. its on the expensive side but it does its job. A good alternative is the msd unit.-(not sure which model)goodluck man

Does anybody know which MSD model does this.....I plan on getting the MSD 6a for simlicity reasons...I just thought water or alchy injection would be the most reliable way of running more boost with out hurting performance.......and is the J&S a good alternative to injection or does it just pull out timing???? I would think this would hinder performance more than anything.....

Do a google serch on the J&S and check out their webpage. It is full of a bunch of great facts. The J&S puts the MSD BTM in the dust. THe J&S is dynamic. Meaning that not only does it have the ability to pull timing with boost (static). It can also sence knock, and pull timing for the individual cylinder that is knocking. The amount of timing pull is adjustable. Their is also a knock meter that you can interface with the unit and mount in your gauge pod. Its a pimp little unit. Wankel guys figured out that the J&S is the real deal to deal with detonation. Any honda guy with stock pistons or an open deck block should be allmost as worried.
Thanks for all the info....I am kind of a tard when it comes to all of this....I just want to make sure my engine lasts as long as it took me to save up all the money going into it..
I think I am going to run my previous ignition with the Auquamist water/alchy injection....(MSD 6a, blaster SS coil..Hondata, etc.) What do you think????

I have a light come on when my water stops injecting. Maybe the tank is low, maybe something is broken. Then my factory computer pulls a lot of ignition timing because the knock increased enough for it to get pissy. Then I can definatley tell something is wrong because of the massive amount of lost power. I also usually have my logger running, so I can monitor knock. If I start knocking, the first thing I do is check my WI system. Thats how I do it, but its not the only way.
Most factory hondas don't have a knock sensor. Even if they do the factory ecu doesen't allow a LOT of timing pull. So its up to the user to either figure out a way to keep track of things when they go wrong. Or, make sure things don't go wrong. Combining both methods is the most successfull way to achieve reliability.

I drilled a hole in it and screwed a copper barb fitting into the tank. I then put some sho goo all around it and it works great. RTV would also work well too i'd think, but I use sho goo in low temp applications because when you peel it off it comes off in one piece. Thats also how I mounted my gauge pods, no drilling and it holds better than screws.
