Cliff Notes:
Air to Air is good for daily driven cars because it takes the ambient air to cool the charge air.

Liquid to Air is mainly a good idea for race cars cause' it needs nice cool liquid to cool the charge air. But once the ice or whatever is in there to cool off the charge air gets warm, it really doesn't do as well.

I personally don't have any experience but that's the jist of what i've been told. Good luck bra-dah

For water/air to function properly, you require a decent radiator, and a decent intercooler core, a Bar and plate is not the best core in a water cooled system.

The benefit to running water/air is you can put the cooler close to the engine, and not have 2 miles of piping to install and less lag. You can also go as big as you want really, without having to worry about space, in this scenario you will find it hard to get a air/air cooler to outperform a water based one, I have a huge intercooler that I am converting to a water/air, its too big to fit in the engine bay, so it will take the heaters place under the dash, the core is 7" X 7" X 14", I suggest you looking into a size like that if you want to go with a water/air cooler.
