Air/vac leak???
So after i did my dsm 450install and obd2a-obd1 conversion last night, my integra makes this kinda loud air flow sound(sounds like gushing air). The sound is coming from the passanger side. I cant pin point where its coming from. The funny thing about the sound is that it goes away after the cars warms up. I don't know if this is normal or what. At first i thought it was a huge vac leak, but i couldn't find where it was coming from b/c the sound stopped. I hope this is just an obd1 thing and not some kind of vac leak. My car is still NA btw.
The car did it again this morning but stopped when the car was warm. The car runs like stock and feels like stock also. Somone please shed some light on this so i can put my mind to rest.

any leaking fuel?
If you took your fuel rail completely off make sure you didnt mess up a vacuum for the fpr? im guessing outta right field though.

ok, so just went and started my car again. I still hear that air gushing sound. the car made that sound for about 3 mins, until it warmed up. I did notice something kind of unusual though. before the air gushing sound stopped, the idle droped from about 900 rpms to about 400rpms than back up to 900rpms then the air gushing sound stopped. still no leaks, the car idles just like stock runs fine, i just want to make sure nothing is wrong before i boost. b/c i would hate to loose a motor due to somehting trivial and stupid. some one please shed some light on this. What is the car doing while its warming up?!?!? it seems like a valve or something is closing/opening right when the car is warming up.

Re: (Whiteintegra)
I'm pretty sure, Its surging because a vacuum line is lose. Mine did the same thing. I dont know what to tell you, search for a vacuum line chart and check all your lines make sure theres no cuts or lose lines.
Do you have any aftermarket parts hooked up to vacuum lines? like boost guage boost controller, wastegate; anything?

i have an ebay intake and a boost gauge hooked up. the sound seems to be coming from the top left corner of the engine bay. so if you are standing in front of the car the sound is coming from the top left corner close to the battery.

Re: (Whiteintegra)
Make sure you have the boost guage properly T'd off and the lines tight.
Also make sure theres no issues with the intake such as the PCV valve that fits in from the side from the valve cover.
You have a boost gauge and no boost?

motor is a completly stock 97' b18b1. Vac gauge is reading -15hg with a steady idle. Please keep in mind that all this is happening on a chipped ecu using dsm 450cc injectors. I was thining it was a FITV, but my car is a 97 and i don't think i have one. Im stumped!

ok, i just found out something new. In the pic below when i pull the line that is connected to that canister, the air gushing sound stops. the air gushing sounds also stops when i pinch the fuel line.

Yep, unplug the harness from your EVAP solenoid and the noise will go away and the idle will stabilize.

That is assuming he is at sea level. At 4500 feet, I only pull 16 mm/hg vacuum.

ok, so im an idot. Check this out. First pic is my gauge with car off. It read 1psi of boost. 2nd pic is of my car at idle. it reads around 17hg. since the gage is calibrated wrong, thats about 20hg of vac. so i think everythign is good.
