AFC hack?
Ive got one of the old style AFC's with the single **** on the front to lean off or richen the mixture. im going turbo but want to know if i need to up grade to the newer S-afc. have just bought some 390 dsm injectors and am looking to run about 8 psi on the stock B16a. i have a check valve ready to go in but reading past posts many people are doing away with them and just running the S-AFC at -40% ect which seems to make more sense. HELP!

if you search AFC hack there is all the info you need! Its really good info!
but i do know a guy that uses the old AFC and is boosting 20psi in a Eclipse and he loves that old one...."much easier to use" he says

ive tried a search but it does not really bring any thing up about the old afc.
It will only control afr +or- 20% will this be enough with 390cc dsm injectors and running 8 psi?

You can solve that with a calculator.
Is (1-.2)(390) = 312 < the stock sized injector? I doubt it. Get the AFCII and you can install double the size of the stock injector.

running 450cc injectors running the hack..
Idles like stock, and im running 10-11ish psi.
The only thing is that you have to worry about is the AFC advancing your ignition time to much.
PM me if you have any questions.....

Now, is that because of the ±20% with the AFC, ±25% with the short-term fuel trim and ±25% with the long-term fuel trim (assuming you have an OBD1 or OBDII ECU), or are there other factors involved?
I don't think the ECU should be forced to "learn" how to use your new injectors.

The old style AFC only has one **** on it so you can adjust the whole fuel curve by the same amount not in seperate places. basically you can trick the ecu to supply the injectors with upto a maximum of 20% more or less fuel for the entire rev range.
