AEM users and tuners
i tried an adapter once and it didnt work for me either. there maybe a certain way to make it work but i had to find a laptop with the correct serial port to get it to work.

i was using a belkin, did you have to do anything different to make it work? im gonna exchange mine tomorrow. and try the keyspan

I had that problem too cuz aem is set for 1 and my usb was 4! After that work great with the usb adapter

I had a similar problem, I had to install the driver that came with my usb/com converter. Check the port setting, if that doesnt work install the driver if you havent already.
Did the driver work out for you then Jeff?
Yea if you are Using XP use the drivers that came with the connector. I have the Belkin one too.
Also make sure the com port is correct. mine is set to com4 and works perfect

i got the key scan one, and im gonan try it tonight
com4 . i tryed com1 and 5, not 4
