Default AEM users and tuners

My ems wont connect to my laptop. im using a usb to serial adaptor, does that matter?

coms are setup correctly

i tried an adapter once and it didnt work for me either. there maybe a certain way to make it work but i had to find a laptop with the correct serial port to get it to work.

Mine works with a USB to Serial adapter, the one I use is the keyspan high speed model.

i was using a belkin, did you have to do anything different to make it work? im gonna exchange mine tomorrow. and try the keyspan

Didn't need to do anything special, I had to use com4 which was strange, but other than that it worked fine. Should be a small black box with a silver cable, if that helps you find it.

make sure you have the correct COM/Port!!!!!!!!!
thats a prob I had to begin with too(was also using an adapter)
I think mine is 7

I had that problem too cuz aem is set for 1 and my usb was 4! After that work great with the usb adapter

I had a similar problem, I had to install the driver that came with my usb/com converter. Check the port setting, if that doesnt work install the driver if you havent already.

Yea if you are Using XP use the drivers that came with the connector. I have the Belkin one too.
Also make sure the com port is correct. mine is set to com4 and works perfect

com4 . i tryed com1 and 5, not 4

My usb also was com 4
