Default AEM FPR

I just got the AEM FPR. It is indeed a 1:1 ratio under boost, just in case any of you were wondering.

Why doesn't AEM specify that??? I haven't seen anywhere except http://www.hondata.com that said it was, not even on the AEM website.

Good question man, I guess they do not think it is pertinent information. Anyway, I was relieved to read in the manual that is was a 1:1. The Hondata will like that.

doesn't the aem fpr come with w/ three different ratio settings (little nuts that you change inside the fpr)? anyways, the aem fpr sucks *** when you go fi. the rubber inside the fpr rips.

The diaphragm can't take 100psi of fuel pressure.
It's perfect for hondata.

Why do you say the rubber inside rips? Has this happened to you?

Ive spoken to a few people who have had the diaphragm rip under 100+ psi of fuel pressure.
AEM warrantied both FPR's IIRC.

SO if the AEM FPR sucks, what would be a better choice? I was thinking about Paxton?

Well since I do not plan to get near 100PSI fuel pressure, it will be great for me. I am going with Hondata Stage 2B and RC 440's.

this happened at 75psi, w/ a cartech..

i think the AEM is good for lower pressures (40-50) and can take 100psi for short times but its not a good solution for rising rate regulators.. comptech, paxton or SX are nice

Yes, but to reiterate, the AEM is fine for people like me who are going with a standalone and bigger injectors.

i dunno, i feel its just a matter of time before this one ruptures and leaves me pulling fuel out of my block and manifolds.. note, im still running the AEM FPR.. the guy at aem that i talked to sent me out a new diaphram NO questions asked.. i asked him if he has ever seen this problem before and he actully said no, that this was the first one he's heard of maybe this was a bad batch from 6-8 months ago that all of us had problems with.. the new part from aem hasn't failed yet.. (only 300 miles on it at 52psi static, 60psi full boost.. hondata and 440's..)

I agree. I'm using an Aeromotive. I love their stuff. A little pricey, but well worth it. A lot of people are afraid to use it because it's not a "bolt on". Oh well.
