Default About Intake Rotor

I was wondering how you could properly check for turbo failures? I understand that the intake 'Rotor'/'Blade Fins' may move like 0,1cm right? (Dont know the exact number though)

The question is because I've noticed that the new turbo I received that the intake rotor does move a LITTLE so dunno whether that should be alarming or not

Thanks

I've got my answer already though. When you attach the turbo to your engine, n get it oiled up, the movement will dissapear, correct? ^^

Not all of it. Turbos always have small amounts of shaft play, around a mm or less... I can't remember the exact measurement.. The number is different between journal and ball bearing Turbos. This little gap is here so the oil has somewhere to go when it enters the center section. The wheels should stiffen up and bit.

It sounds like you have the turbo just laying around so here's how to test this. Flip the turbo over until the oil drain points up, fill the center section with oil and let it sit for a few minutes and then turn and try to move the wheel. As stated most of the play should be gone but not all of it as the oil is not pressurized.
