Default Abacus Racing

I just wanted to take a quick second to give props to finally a good experience with a shop.

Shad and Chuck at Abacus get mad props from me..

A little over a month ago, I took my car down there to get tuned..
The person who had done my motor before, did not retorque the headstuds, and while tuning for some higher boost (on stock sleeves) the head lifted, and cracked a sleeve.

Shad had the head off the car in what seemed like half an hour. Just busted it apart right there. If the sleeve wouldnt have cracked, he would have replaced the head gasket, and had me up and running that day.

Anyways, I was so frustrated with the way things had been going for me and the car, that I was furious. I opted to get the block resleeved by them, (Darton sleeves). He told me that He had to send the block out, get it CNC'd and a bunch of other ****. Basically that I would be out of my car for another month, and that he wouldnt even be there for 2 of those weeks because he would be out of town with their mobile dyno.

I ordered the block to be resleeved, all the machining, new headstuds, rings, etc.

Shad told me a ballpark figure, and when they even finished my car 2 DAYS EARLY...it was a bit higher than what he had told me.

Chuck made it right. He didnt come down to the exact number of what I was told, but he met me half way, which is a truley honorable thing, and he bitched about it none. He apologized for the unprofesstionalism, and we agreed on the price.

The car runs perfect, and I couldnt be more pleased to have my car back so fast.

Ill be down there in a few weeks with some bigger injectors and a broken in motor to tune for high boost.

If you guys need a good shop with good customer service and youre in the area, I would go there as well.

They also have done terry's (boostfed's) 500+ whp civic.

Later fellas

Hes a pretty good tuner.

Also the motor wasnt completely stock. Had JE pistons, Eagle rods, but it was bored 20 over and he used the same 81mm pistons

They are definetly good people. Very trustworthy, hard working, knowledgable people. They have a full machine shop, dyno, and a honda mechanic with many years of experience working there. Look for them to get bigger. Im glad you had a good experience with them.

How did they bore the motor 20 over and use the same 81mm pistons? I think you might want to read the owners manual.

thats my exact point. You really cant do it, and the person who put my motor together the first time did.

I only found out about this when shad took my motor apart to get the darton sleeves in it, and called me and let me know.

Thanks for the smart comment though =/

I'd rather not say man..

But no worries, its not a shop. Its a person. So there is basically no chance of ppl going to him....
