Default 84mm pistons......?!??!!

Ok heres the deal....I feel like a *** for asking this but....I bought some 84mm JE 9:0.1 pistons from a guy on here. I got the pistons today in the mail and I was looking @ them and on the inside they are stamped 81mm?!!??! So obviously these are 81mm right?? I have never bought pistons before unless they were machined from a block and are really 84 and just stamed 81, is that possible or are these 81mm??? Thanks

jon

Measure them. Even a dial caliper will tell you if it's roundabout 81mm or 84mm.

If you don't have a dial caliper or micrometer, then you can use a ruler to measure and draw out 81mm and 84mm onto a piece of paper and set the piston in between the lines to determine whether you have one or the other.

best way to use is a micrometer. man that sux if you got screwed and they sent you 81mm instead of 84mm. i''d go flip mode

I sold him the pistons...they came out off my 84mm sleeved benson block...Mic it out man and you will see...That 81mm is probably the height of the piston....

Or just some random casting numbers, it doesn't have to be related to the piston dimensions at all

yeah, those are just a casting number...I have never seen a piston with it's size stamped on it.
