8 injectors on 4cyl??
hi, today at the dragway a guy in my club (club accord quebec) was beaten by a d16 turbo, and the setup had 8injectors, I couldn't get more info cause their were too many people, so I wanna know
the 4 other injectors where preset to work at a rpm to get more power.
does someone here have a setup like this?? if so, how does it work and how can it be fit into my engine and how big the difference would be with bigger injector instead of 2 sets??

Re: 8 injectors on 4cyl?? (JSMC)
guessing but he is either using a standalone to control all 8 injectors or he is using a piggyback unit similar to the mf2 injector controler in f-max kits for the extra 4 sprayers. the ecu could run the other 4 as normal.
not to far fetched to run that many injectors, he is just doing it for tunability I am sure or trying to run higher levels of boost than the injectors could take without a standalone.
BTW alot of production vehicles use a primary and secondary injector setup... with more than 1 injector per cyl.

Re: 8 injectors on 4cyl?? (JSMC)
I would be willing to bet the guy was in a white 94 Hatchback, with an LSD, 20G turbo, and ran in the 12.39 area. I don't know.. just a guess.. was I close? Anyways I'm guessing it's Civic TSI, he posts around here I do belive. He is a welder and made the manifold by himself. He uses the 8 injector setup because it was a cheap alternative at the time. It works well from what I've heard. He uses the Rebic IV to control it. It's an expensive setup but at the time I think he got a deal or something.. or had it left over. ( http://www.greddy.com/products...e.htm ) He's defiently putting down really good numbers so you can't argue with weather it is or isn't. This guy lives in Canada so I'm almost positive it's him. I'll send him this post and see if he chims in.

Re: 8 injectors on 4cyl?? (hatchback19)
No, it wasn't me. And my car is a 92 But I wouldn't be surprise if the car in question was white. To get a decent idle, I don't think 8 injectors is necessary until you need more than 720cc per cylinder.
BTW, who's TravSi ?

WHops typo. Here's the guy I was talking about, any questions should be directed to him. What's the odds of another turbo d16 running a similiar setup in Canada.. yours is the only one I've ever seen.

Re: 8 injectors on 4cyl?? (Civic TSI)
don't know, I haven't been able to talk with the guy, this is why I ask the question here. but the guy in my club who race against him told me that it was a boost controller (or something like that, the traduction may not be good, cause I heard this in french) and the guy used 240cc injectors
maybe the car has been done by advanced efi, but cannot know
