4 Port boost controllers

. You said "they don't make one in a higher wattage". You didn't state on or off the shelf until after I posted, which I addressed in my first post might be a possibility, but I didn't think so. I literally have boxes of these valves sitting on my tool box at work.
I would not count on their online catalogs to show you the 1000's of valve variations they make, but that's just me. If I Google the valve part number that's on the side of my fadal vmc I get 5 hits on Google, even though they made a ton of these machines and they are not rare by any means.I cannot find a brochure on line that has all the digits of the valve part number.Does that mean it's not a shelf part, even though i can call them and order spares from them? Apples to hammers , but it applies.

So for those of us running small to medium sized turbos (gt28xx-gt30xx) on 1.8-2 liter motors that want to run 20-30psi+ with a broad range of control/resolution on a single dual port gate what solenoid do we use?
a high wattage 3 port or 4 port?
this solenoid **** starts to give me headaches lol.

If someone wants to pay me 6 dollars for shipping I'll send them a 12 watt 3 port to test out.

If my car was running at the moment I'd do it in a hurry. Wanna sell one lol
I don't want to get my car running and then have to dick around with solenoid issues forever.

I'm getting a retune this weekend, switching from a 3 to 4 port mac. I'm also taking my 7lb spring out and putting in a 3lb.
I'll let everybody know what shakes out.
I'm still curious to know what frequency to run. From reading it sounds like lower is better, but some people say that it didn't work for them. I guess I'll start at 20hz and go from there.

I'm finding more and more that solenoid frequency is mostly application specific... there's a general "range" but each setup requires its own
With the talk about the 5.4 watt being the highest 46 series valve, I decided to contact mac directly and find out out. Here is the email convo:
To Mac:
"
I was wondering if you produce 12 watt valves in the 46 series? Something like 46A-AA1-JDBA-1BA but 12 watts instead of 5.4 watts.
I saw online a 12 watt 36 series (36A-AAA-JEDA-1BA) But the highest wattage I saw in the catalogs for the 36 series was 5.4 as well.
Just wondering if you had other 46 series valves that aren't listed in the catalogs.
Thanks
"

Hi Dan – yes we do offer a 12 watt coil for the 46 series. May I ask where you’re located (city & state). The reason I ask is because we do not do direct sales, therefore I can forward your request to the nearest distributor.

I replied back, with my info so we'll see what happens. I also asked if he had any more info such as part numbers etc.

Instead of waiting for tom to reply, I went ahead and contacted a distributor here in my area. They are going to look into it and come back with a quote.. I don't know if these have to be custom made or have a min order qty. But I should find out soon enough.
Whenever I use the 4-port setups, I would always take the boost source directly from the compressor housing. This will help with the lowest and highest possible boost because the source will be taken from the highest pressure source. Hope that helps... I've been using a lot of 4-ports already with no issues on a variety of cars/EMS'.
Here is a reply back from the mac distributor:
Looks like there seems to be some confusion. I replied back with my original correspondence with mac saying there is a 12watt 46 series valve. So maybe they will do some more digging.

Different note:
I swapped springs last night to 3psi. I setup neptune at 20hz and set the duty cycle to 40 and the results were good, it bumped me up to 8lbs. My feed does come off compressor housing, all lines are short as can be an are -4an. Maybe this 4port wont be so bad after all. I'll know more after the tune to see what type of range and control I can get out of this.
Hi Dan. I looked into the Mac valve you asked about to see if we had something that would offer the 12 W option you are looking for. Unfortunately, those valves don’t have anything with that high of wattage. The wattage you have, 5.4W, is the highest available.
I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
Thanks.

Got another reply from the mac distributor:
I sent a reply back so we will see how much these will cost.
Hi Dan. I’m sorry. We weren’t aware of a 12W option for the 46 series, but after your e-mail we spoke with Mac and found out they can do it with a modification. I’m working on getting the pricing for you. Since it is special, it would be about a 6 week lead time. Would that work for you?
Also, can you let me know what your zip code is? I just need to get an idea of where in Indy you are located so I can send you a quote.
Thanks!

i noticed when looking up the part number the ones that im finding have several wires instead of the 2 on the hondata 3 port unit that i currently have, how big of deal is it to wire one of theses 4 ports up?
The 4 ports should only have 2 wires so if you are finding ones with more wires then those are not the correct parts. Refer to the MAC catalog for full explanation of the part number.

Which MAC part number do you think has more than two wires, MANY times people look at a picture that appears to have more than two wires because of the ways the wires are overlapping in the picture, but it actually does NOT have more than 2 wires. It is very rare that a solenoid of any kind has more than 2 wires.

PM me, if interested in buying these, I have a good source for 4port high temp, high frequency (in stock) , as well as high frequency. I may be hard to reach for a few days as I am travelling until Jan 3. We can also supply very nice brackets, that we supply for us and other companies. Brackets are heavily discounted when purchased with a valve(s).
