How much will a 3mm long crack in the side of the piston hurt the durablitly? I know it isnt good, but how bad is it?

If you are going to just respond with a two word post, dont bother.....I need some people who have had experiences with this.

also, to even notice the cracks the pistons had to be microinspected by a machine shop

once a crack develops, it comprimises the integrity of the piston, and that crack will grow. If you are nice to it, it would probably last quite a while on a forged piston, but if it's a cast piece, cast it into the garbage.
