371hp B16a Si - Dyno Chart Inside
I didn't think this was possible....
Stock head and intake manifold
Golden Eagle sleeves, Wiseco pistons (8.5:1), stock bore, aftermarket rods
DRAG kit, Big Apex intercooler, 60-1 with some special sauce
We ran out of wastegate spring at 22psi, and this particular car used a stock rev limit. With Hondata and 760cc MSD injectors on call, with a Walbro pump and a stock regulator to help things along, on the 20th pass on the dyno we ripped a 371hp and 255tq to the wheels. We had to switch boost gauges mid session, as his topped out at 20psi. This was done on C16, but air fuel and timing was kept conservative as this was a street car. We could have played around with it some more, but we felt this was enough - for now. We hope to massage the head with some valve springs for higher revs, adding in a JG Edlebrock intake, Tial wastegate, and a Prodrive oil pump gear for safety.
I didn't build this car, but it was built by a good friend of mine who knows whats going on. This was the first time I've been able to really flex my muscles on a well put together and built motor with Hondata - and it didn't flinch. You'll be hearing more about this car, and I'll post up the dyno sheet tomorrow. Just thought I'd share. I'm so pleased, and the owner was only expecting 325hp. We're going out for now to celebrate

Re: 371hp B16a Si (HybridKOOP)
Compression ratio was 8.5:1, using shelf Wiseco pistons. The manifold was a DRAG manifold, using (gasp) a Deltacreepgate. As expected, the Deltagate did give us problems with creep if the Profec B was turned off. This was indeed a T3/60-1 turbo with some undisclosed (to even me) "special sauce"

Re: 371hp B16a Si (SiRkid)
on 22 psi you ONLY made 371 with a built motor??????
why does that seem really low to me?
why does that seem really low to me?
Can you ever contribute anything positive to any of my threads?

Nice numbers John, the compression is pretty low and the B16A torqueless monster needs as much compression as possible without causing detonation. I dynoed 369whp and 273 lb-ft torque with 21psi on a DRAG 3 kit turbo was actually a T3/T04B with a S trim(small) compressor wheel and .63 A/R turbine with standard trim , I had 81.5mm Endyn 9.3:1 CR RW pistons and Eagle rods, no headwork and a Skunk2 maanifold aand Holley 68mm TB, RC 550cc injectors maxed out. We fell the actuaally CR of the pistons were much lower though, my new set up contains Endyn 9.7:1 84.5mm pistons and we CC'ed the motor and came up with about 8.9:1 w/o messing with the head We have it at 9.5:1 now. I feel with just the change of the intake manifold you should definately be able to make much more power out of that set up especially running the 60-1 it has so much more potential. What kind of spool up time does he have with stock displacement? Start to spool and reach full boost. I know it's been covered before just see different answers. Congrats again Vapor and let us know he ever changes the manifold or any other components and redynoes. I started assembling my motor yesterday, block should be done today, waiting on my head to be finished.

Re: 371hp B16a Si (VaporTrail)
Well, here is the dyno chart.
On this particular run, we tried raising the rev limiter, but it made no additional power, so we set it back to 8200rpm to preserve the stock valve train. Although it's not shown in this graph, air fuel was set to 12:1 across the band, though it did fall off up top to the mid elevens. We are well aware we could have made more power with a leaner setting and more aggressive tune, but we didn't risk pushing this motor. The owner had never driven anything this powerful before, so we felt best to leave it as is, until he adjusts to the setup, and gains a few more parts. Boosted timing worked out to be fairly low, at about 20 degrees total timing. It had more than enough power to break the wheels loose on the dyno.
Turbo specs were kept a secret even from me, but I do know that it's a 60-1, with a stage 5 wheel. I'll assume it was a .63 a/r. We were running open downpipe with a 2.5 inch diameter, though a full three inch system is planned. We were limited to 21-23psi thanks to the Deltagate, which is ok b/c we exceeded our hp expectations by nearly 50whp, with only 2 more psi than we were shooting for. This is a true street car, with air conditioning, power steering, fresh Audi grey paint job, and stereo system.
SirKid - sorry for the flame, long night of drinking to celebrate this weeks hard work. Shouldn't have signed on My apologies...
I'll keep you guys posted on the progress of this car. Our goal is 400whp. Shouldn't be too difficult

Smooth climb to the top! Nice work John. Maybe you can help me put in my turbo and tune it as well when I have the funds. Just need a DP made, oil and vac lines, and mounts made for the XS IC....after that I just need you to work your magic on the Hondata.

Re: 371hp B16a Si (VaporTrail)
no hard feelings.
WIth the latest crazy numbers people have been posting it did seem low to me for a while.Over all those numbers are awesome!! they are , i was just accustomed(sp) to seeing 500 hp and such in the last bit.

"and a Prodrive oil pump gear for safety."
Be carefull it might be more of a grenade rather than a saftey point at this point in the game and the horror stories i have heard from the grape vines I would personally run a spoon one you pay a bit more but hey i wouldnt want a 50cent worht part take out my 8k dollar motor -my 2 pennies good luck amn-Pdang

Re: 371hp B16a Si (bambooluv)
When I drove up to the NHRA race in dallas I was in the staging lanes over hearing Viren and Bruce mortonson talking. Bruce was saying how bad the oil pump gears are. They both said they run a NEW OEM oil pump.
They were saying that the problem with lisa's car was the oil pump gear all along. They blew so many motors at the start of the season and dropped out of NHRA. I hope she gets back into it soon..

Re: 371hp B16a Si (R Kincaid)
I know of many cars successfully running the Prodrive gear. I know they previously had some issues with fitment (as mine had), but they replaced it for no charge for me. We'll try it...
