Default 3 BAR map sensor

I've never bought one before, but I need one to turn the boost past 11 psi on my Integra. I heard that the GM 3 BAR map sensor was around $60 and someone on Honda-Tech said it was $55. I went to GM motors and they said that it is $118.34. That is too much; I could get an AEM 3.5 BAR map sensor for $140. I heard that the "equipment" to make a map sensor can be found at a fish aquarium place and that it's easy to make, but I want a decent "brand name" in case I sell my car.
Where did you guys buy your map sensors and how much did you pay?

at the bottom. $62 and includes connector

And you can't make a MAP sensor at the aquarium store... you can "make" a "MAP bypass" aka check valves, which you really don't need if you are running a 3bar map sensor.

How much boost do you plan on running? You can get by with 13psi or so using the stock map sensor by tuning the last column slightly rich.

More than that. I want to try 15 psi on the street and 18-21 psi at the track.

Thanks guys. The link to camp1320 didn't work, but the other looks nice.

I bought the one from LightningMotorsports.com. Just a newbie question....Once I install the new map sensor, will I have to retune my Hondata S200B or will it just read the same 11 psi of boost through the new map sensor?

You need to select 3bar and burn a new chip...

and yes some tuning may be required. I've noticed that when going directly from the stock to the 3bar, the voltages don't line up exactly as Hondata planned (or the 3bar precision isn't spot on), so it can mess up your tune.

Will this SVE MAP plug into the same spot as my stock one on my 95 GSR if I use the pigtail as well?

You will have to wire the 3 wires of the 3 bar into the honda wires...look at the link given above ^^^

you can get an msd 3 bar as well.... same part # as GM 3 bar, which is exactly the same thing.

You can try some junkyards...."try" some local parts stores maybe.
worse comes to worse you can go straight to gm. do you have a GM dealer?...or you can get the harness from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com GM PART # 15305891

a little pricey for a harness though. But yes thats the same model # I have on my msd...and its the same model # on the GM.

Ok, well that msd one sold. I think I am going to order the SVE 3 bar and pigtail from lightniing motorsports to make it easier. Anyone use one of these before, and/or order for Lightning?

The 3bar looks nothing like a honda sensor, and it does not mount where the stock sensor goes. it's a big black box that you run a vacuum line to. You'll need to leave your stock MAP sensor in place, else you win a free vacuum leak.

I have the 3bar from lightning, works great.

Is there any 3 bar that mounts in place of the stock map sensor?
So you just mounted your sve 3 bar wherever, splice the wires and run a vac line?
