Well i've got a custom intake manifold with a 75mm BBK/Edelbrock Mustang TB, i have both 2.5 and 3.5" piping, holding up the 2.5 to it just looks out of place, not to mention i dont think i can find a silicone adapter to fit. My idea is just to do 3.5" until it ducks down under the frame rial then trasition it to 2.5"... any thoughts?
my setup is more than capable of moving the air through the upper pipe with minimal spool up time difference
The intake mani

2.5"

3.5"

yea all i have right now is stainless steel. im gonna try to find some aluminum. the biggest bitch is gonna be a bend in that size
why not just take the 2.5 pipe and flare the throttle body end of it to the desired size and then it will fit. Any muffler shop can open the piping up some.

dude, id only up it to a 3". With that 3.5" your holding up there, looks like youve got a little bit of a bottle neck to get into the throttle body...
3.5" piping has more than twice the cross sectional area of 2.5" piping, and therefore twice the volume, and therefore twice the time to spool. 2.5" is fine. Hell, 2.5 is overkill unless you are spinning to 14,000 RPM.

yea, i actually bought it from jared who had his car there... that is so much drama its scary. it was actually made by rmpnyc up in ny
actually the 3.5" fits perfectly, but is the internal volume really that much bigger between 3 and 3.5?

and the car was in the main part of the shop taking up a lot of room
in ALL honesty...i can't see crazy dave at fault....

What about a flared transition just before the throttle body? Burns makes a 2.5" to 3.25" flare in 304SS, which might fit better because that 3.5" looks a little bigger than the throttle body bore.
3.5 might be too extreme, stick with the proven 3" from the ic to the intake manifold, and for bending the aluminum, just do pie cuts, it works great and you dont have to buy any 90's or 45's. I personally run 2.5 from the turbo to ic and 3" from ic to the intake manifold, and couldnt want. anything any better
