200hp in a Del Sol?
I have several questions about getting a Del Sol to 200hp, so feel free to direct me to other threads or jab me in the arm and tell me to delete this thread because the issue has been solved.
What is the most cost effective way to reach this goal? Really, I want to know. I could go and buy an engine and drop it in or I could put a turbo in it and make it go choo choo. It mostly depends on how complicated it is.
If I were to turbocharge it, what would you recommend in terms of parts. I have seen several people buy used parts and they seem to work pretty well, I also have several ideas of how to go about getting this system set up, everything from Garret T3s out of old volvos to ripping parts out of a 1.8L VW engine to diesel truck turbos to new, off-the-shelf parts. If I am to continue on this route, fabrication is inevitable and when the time comes, it will happen, I know a guy.
Superchargers are a bit of a mystery to me, but I have a simple question: can I attach one to the A/C compressor mount? The cost to performance of a supercharger vs. a turbo I can look up and research more.
If I were to swap it, I have that pretty lined up too, buy an engine with the desired specs and make it fit, the trouble is if this is a cheaper option than forced induction.
This post is sounding like a 1 in 1 million noob posts put on every car forum from saturn to murcury (hehe... get it?... sorry), but I would just like some guidance without learning everything there is to know about every turbo ever made mated to every honda engine imaginable. Not that I don't respect people who have this encyclopedic knowledge, it is just a lot to take in for someone just getting into forced induction who's biggest teachers so far have been mighty car mods and Forza motorsport.
any help is appreciated, thank you.
Apologies if this has been answered somewhere else, I'll get rid of it if it is too general.

If you have or are planning on using a b-series vtec motor you can achieve 200hp with bolt-on's, cams, and tune. Nice and easy. Keeping additional moving parts to a minimum is most reliable.
Start off by reading the FAQ sticky. Your question depends entirely on what motor you currently have in the car, but yes, 200WHP is attainable with a simple turbo and tune for your car.
hondalocal, this is the forced induction section. If you don't want to talk about FI, you don't belong here.

You could do a stock d series build and make 200hp for about 2k using used and new parts if you know where to look and what to buy.
