Default 2000 SI valve adjustment

I have a 2k Si w/ 80k. I have never adjusted the valves. I am going to replace the timing belt and need to know how and if I should adjust the valves.

Thanks for the reply. I have heard that if you wait too long to adjust the valves it can do damage if you do so, kinda like transmission service. But this theory doesn't seem to hold water for me. I do have what may be decerned as noise but very light and fear the inevitable tick if I miss an adjustment on one or two.

I have reviewed the posted site and it looks rather straight forward for the 18 but I have a 16. My Question is related to the VTEC head. I have never worked on one and wonder if there are any differences or special tools I need to know about.

Cool. I have seen what is called a Honda valve adjustment tool that looks like a socket w/ a screwdriver run thru it. Is that the one. Also, Do you have a copy of the adjusting sequence. I wonder if a Haynes manual would cover the SI/VTEC engine.

Thanks again.
