2000 Prelude - Turbo Needs
Hello, I am new to this board and have some serious questions. I know alot of information is out there on forums so I'll try be as specific as possible.
I have a prelude which I am turboing (I already have the complete kit, not dreaming here) but I can't seem to find the specific ECU and Fuel answers I am looking for.
Before I go into anything else, yes, my car does weigh 3000 pounds has a reputable weak block, or should I say pistons and ringlands. So yes, I won't be running 12's.
Here goes: I know I will need to upgrade my fuel injectors. My stock injectors are 280 cc Saturated (High Impedance).
My replacement choices come down to 450cc DSM Blue tops or 460cc RX7 Turbo injectors. According to RC, these types of injectors can sustain about 280-295 wheel horsepower. Problem is the DSM injectors are Peak and Hold which would require me to install a resistor box. This is where I start to lose it a little. Any Suggestions?
While on the fuel topic, How are stock H22 Fuel rails? Should I be upgrading with the addition of a turbo? And my Turbo Kit came with a Vortech 12:1 FMU. Does this replace an adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator or do I still need to upgrade?
I think that's it for fuel. On to those damn OBD2 ECU's?
Where to begin? I have no idea here, Will my OBD2 ECU agree with the Turbo addition? Or will I have to swap in an OBD1? If so, do I go with a P13 from a 92-96 H22 or a P73 from a 94-95 GSR?
To put some more context around my situation, I plan on running 8.5psi with new injectors? Will this be too much for my stock internals? I won't be changing pistons and re-sleeving the block until next winter.
I've heard that H22's can handle anywhere from 6-9 psi safely on stock internals.
Thanks for reading. Hope to get some good feedback.

So install a resistor box, boom no more problem.

The stock fuel rail can support atleast 375whp, I know this cause thats what I'm making on it. If you using larger injectors, you won't need the vortec fmu, thats for stock injectors. You can always use it along with your stock injectors and a inline pump and be done with it, no ecu swapping, no resistor box, just bolt on and run.

maybe you should deciede what your fuel management is going to be first. Or better yet, how much you want to spend on it. You can spend 0 and just bolt on the kit, ~$400 and run larger injectors and a afc hack, or ~$1200+ and run a standalone with larger injectors.

Re: 2000 Prelude - Turbo Needs (Wo-Nelly)
So would I be pushing it running 8.0 - 8.5 psi of boost on stock injectors, an second inline fuel pump and a Vortech 12:1 FMU? Would this blow the engine?
