2000 civic automatic turbo
I have a 2000 civic. It is an automotic. I want to put a turbo on it. is there a kit that i can buy to run with an automatic? is this a cood trans combo? any feedback is welcome.
Hey man just a heads up, Ive been trying to find info on here about turbocharging an automatic civic for a very long time and found nothing, Your gonna hear just convert it to 5 speed and call it a day im willing to bet! In my brothers case he's a paraplegic and has to use an auto trans now, Anyways, I don't think theres kits that are different from auto and 5 speeds, I had a D16 greddy kit on an auto and it fit fine. Only thing is good luck finding someone that can tune an automatic on something other than an AFC, As far as I know nothing is made that can control the automatics, IF you find anything out keep me in touch!
you can tune your automatics with AFC and AFC neo as well as emanage ultimate and IIRC Hydra retains the stock ecu, send them an email to be sure: http://www.hydraems.com/

S-AFC's do not allow you to adjust the timing, which is advantageous when you're working with turbo's. They allow you to run a bigger injector on the stock ECU tune.

emanage ultimate is a piggyback universal unit so i was imagining your stock ecu would maintain control of the auto tranny, i can ask my tuner for you as he is very familiar with it... and as said earlier the AFC does not control timing which is actually a disadvantage but not a huge one as most tuners only retard timing, but for people like me who have 8.3 compression controlling timing is VITAL to make the car move.

I remember in a old SuperStreet there was a guy with a Blue civic that had a boosted LS ( I think). Any one remember this issue? Check and see if it mentions what he used.
I hope to boost my wagovan this summer. Maybe 8psi and shoot for 150-180whp on a Auto trany. I'll let you guys know if it works.

IIRC it was actually ImportTuner it had a auto trans built by Level 10 and his whife drove it often, as far as tunning i dont remember but i think it may have actually been an FMU/fuel pump set up...
also i spoke with my tuner today and he said afc isent even worth it and he would actually prefer an FMU/pump setup which will already bring you to a power level that could possibly break your tranny so why would you want more?

as far as I know all auto civic transmissions are full manual valve body. The only thing the ecu controls is the lockup on the tq converter. If staying obd-2 emanage is the way to go.

dont forget guys, regular e-manage only controls fuel, the ultimate controls both fuel and ign.

wrong. emanage blue controls fuel and timing. Maybe your thinking the blue box. Emanage ultimate has better control of fuel than blue, since blue only adds additional pulsing to the injector whereas ultimate takes full control, and can raise the rev limit. Blue has the ability to + or - 20 degree ignition over a 16x16 map. It also has an option for a 3bar mapsensor. Blue is a cheap and the perfect way to go for a turbo auto(obd-2). Ultimate is overkill (its nice but not needed). Emanage blue worked perfectly on my civic (formerly auto). I had 186whp and 166tq at 9.5psi and got 40mpg+hwy with the auto on a gt28r w/ 2.3" exh.

Since you're new, I'll make this simple. Use the search button before you make another single post. Try a few variations on the words 'automatic transmission', limit it only to the F.I. subforum.
FYI its the trans that will be your weakest link. Auto D16 trannies are not very tough, and if you don't add a huge tranny cooler, you'll be changing your fluid every 1k miles until it dies 5-10k miles later. And thats with a small turbo/low boost... Fast automatic Hondas are not common because it just doesn't work great. In the end, you'd be faster with a Ford Taurus SHO.

a five speed swap isnt difficult way make yur life more complicated, not be able to make any worthwhile power, and kno yur setup is gonna blow yur tranny really fast no matter what. why restrict yurself with a crappy tranny.

i certainly was thinking of the blue box, thanks for the correction
edit: AEMS FIC may also be an option but i heard something about them not running properly on honda's not sure if its true or BS.
