Default 200 whp reliability?

I'm just wondering will a reliable, Hondata tuned turbo setup at 200 whp affect how long my engine lasts?

With that little hp, and good tuning, it should last as long as any NA modified car correct?

Its for an ongoing debate

even if u make far more power

remember the key is TUNNING

as long as a engine is well tuned, it will last as long as any other engine

increased power will always affect the engine life for the simple fact that more power puts more stress on the motor.even if its only up to 200 hp think about it on a stock single cam thats almost doubling the horsepower

and dont forget regular maintenance. This is esp. important for boosted engines.

I was boosting with a FMU/inline fuel pump/stock injectors setup @ 8psi for about 2 years and had no problems. I used 94 octane everytiime and I also changed my oil every 1500 miles. After that I switched over to 450cc injectors and a SAFC and an intank fuel pump and bumped it up to 10 - 12psi daily driven. I'm sure I was making well over 200whp. Just tune it right, maintain it and do not drive stupid and you'll have a long living motor.

Well the best we got here is 93 octane

Isnt 1500 miles oil change overkill? What about 2000 or 2500?

and yes 1500 mile oil changes are over kill unless you are making some sick power and always beating the **** out of it.

I have friends making more power with small turbos or JRSC using FMU's. Running for years without problems.

it will last but not as long as if it was stock na because theres going to be more pressure on the engine while boosting.
More pressure=shorter engine life.

just cuz the motor is under more stress doesnt mean your motor wont last a long time, like others said this mainly depends on how well you maintain your setup and how much you abuse it

You call it overkill but I call it insurance. I also change it right before every track event I race in also.

they are not......

keeping the engine oil always clean and mantaining the engine lubed good will prevent many problems

a preventive maintance on a car is never bad......
if he has the money to do so, then is ok
