Just finished up prepping my block tonight...building tommorow night..thought I might share some pictures

Wall Clearance - .003"
Top Ring - .019"
Second Ring - .021"

Eagle Lightweight Crank
Eagle H Beams
9:1 Wiesco's

Never painting my block "aluminum" again, didn't expect it to be so bright

Here are some updates as of tonight

Prepped Block

Pistons of the rods, pistons/rings matched to each cylinder

Eagle Lightweight Crank cleaned and prepped

Installed main studs, and crank

GE Girdle installed with plastigauge


That is as far as I got tonight, found a broken second ring right out of the package, so gotta order another set from Wiesco on monday

Looks good man, are you puttin the pistons in yourself? Or are you havin a friend help you? Just a heads up- if youre doin it by yourself, try and get some gloves or somethin, piston ring compressor is sharper than it looks

I work at NAPA, we sell if as Duplicolor High Heat Engine Enamel the 1200 degree stuff, it''s called "aluminum."

I figured that's what the duplicolor is I just got my new block in today, and drab green just isn't doing it for me

it looks like **** in person I did aluminum then after being totaly dissatisfied, i painted over it lightly with 'ford grey' and i got a nice kind of speckled easy grey look.
