Default 1995 Del Sol

Hey everyone. Not even going to claim to be a mechanic. I can change parts etc, but diagnosing items isn’t my specialty. So…here’s the issue.

1995 Del Sol 1.5 (D15B7) she surges or revs (whatever you choose to call it. I’ve changed the IACV, FITV, TPS, PCV, and I’ve checked for vacuum leaks. I’ve pulled the brake booster line and plugged the end of the tube, I’ve pulled the temp sensor line with no change. NOW, I don’t have any codes, but when I pull the electrical plug for the IACV, it of course throws a code, but idles just fine? I don’t get it. I’ve been through two of these total. Can anyone out there help me out? Generally surges between 1000 and 1500.

i also need to mention I’ve checked coolant level etc. Thanks for your help.

If you have a gauge anywhere to measure fuel pressure, prime the fuel pump but don’t start the car. If you’re losing fuel pressure, the issue could be your fuel pressure regulator. Other than that, you’ve checked most everything i’d assume it would be. I suppose it could be your MAP sensor but i doubt it.
