14b on b18a
Ok heres the deal, I have a b18a in my 93 hatch and I just got ahold of a 14b turbo and 440cc dsm injectors. I found a manifold for b series that will bolt up to this turbo. I still need a bov, oil lines, intercooler ect. just other small stuff, about another $400 or so. Now I understand how it all goes together, but im lost in the programming aspect of adding a turbo. I plan on only running 5-7 psi of boost, not much and I would like to know which would be the best route for me to go. Im basically asking where can I learn all this stuff that I dont know about. Like I know of hondata, uberdata, afc hack, but I dont understand exactly what it all means or is. Ive searched but cant find any info. Any comments, suggestions,questions..ect. are welcome.

Ok well once I can download uberdata, I chip my ecu and run a usb cable through it... I have to have a laptop correct and the only way to tune it is if its on a dyno? You reprogram the ecu while its still hooked up to the car right ? Basically all I want is to turbo my car and program my ecu so that my engine doesnt blow. The way I look at it is I have my car in my garage and I already have a computer out there ( its a garage/ office area) and run a long usb cable to my ecu and reprogram it right ? Or does it have to be on a dyno with a laptop in the passenger seat ? Sorry for these noob questions, its just hard to use search and find answers like this.
i think you need to buy the aem, hondata,or the e-manage one of the 3 will be the best for you.when you are ready to tune get someone that knows a little more than you to tune it. pay the extra cash to save your engine from any bad tunning you would do.

can someone explain then exactly how you tune with uberdata?

Are you using external wastegate or some different acuator arm??? I'm asking because the turbo wont run less then 8-9psi with stock actuator. Anyway i deff run that turbo at around 10psi because you wont make like 20whp gain at 5psi with that turbo.

Alright im using the stock internal wastegate with the stock acuator arm. So that means im automatically going to be running 8-9 psi and it wont go down or up?
The exhaust housing has cracked in the usual areas near the wastegate flapper. Do you know where i can get a new one or is it bad to run it like this if the crack isnt to bad?

That sounds like it might be a good choice for you. It would be a good learning experience for you, because you can see everything done correctly firsthand. Learning Uberdata is, indeed a lot of work, so you should really consider having it done professionally.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do.
