12GS To Spend
Allright I got 12GS and my SIvic is ready to get boosted well I called JUN USA (in Calafornia)up and they will install my turbo for 800-1000 dollars and im gonna get the greddy kit with the type 24 intercooler. Well the guy from JUN told me that a good setup is gonna be the greddy kit with the APEXI Power FC. Never heard of that setup but JUN does boost cars and the gut (MARK) must know his ish. Well those 12GS are not only going to the motor also a new suspension, body work, wheels, interior and problably an AV System. Well here is my question has anyone messed with the power fc out there and if they did please give pros and cons? Thanks in advance. 12GS Took me 6 months to save up but i did it hopefully this car is hitting at least low 12s when im done with it.(my engine is gonna be completely rebuilt) and 100 shot of NOS. Is it capable?

a completely rebuilt motor will cost u 12 g's... if not more if u are not doing it urself... and if ur going with a buit motor and spending that kind of money... go with a custom kit

I completly agree.
Greddy turbo kit=junk.
Go with a custom kit or a rev hard, **** even these max rev kits I keep on hearing all kinda good stuff about.

Well its not costing me that much I already bought the Nuformz BlockGaurd, Je Pistons, Crower Connecting Rods, Ferria Valve Springs, Type R Camshaft . Well its not completely rebuilt but it has a strong bottom end. Oh JUN USA will do the work .

Greddy is for street use and I will hardly go to the track but if I feel someone ganging on me NOS is on the way. I really like drag Alot but these Cali Laws . I get carb sticker and papers witch will make it easier to pass smog. I know its illegal if you have a BOV but thats a small loop hole thats nothing to trip about its better than having the whole turbo kit taken out.

Re: 12GS To Spend (BOOSTINSI)
u would still need all new bearings, seals, gaskets... etc
-u should balance everything
-get a pro-drive oil gear
-what ecu are u using?
and labor... u said u were getting charged 800-100 to put the kit on by jun... they are probably going to charge u a nice chump of change more to put the motor together... turbo kit instalation isnt all that hard... building a motor can be tricky...

Re: 12GS To Spend (Gmedalion)
what was in the other lane?
looks like it could be a low 11 car but it backs off
and the greddy kit is OK but if you want real power get a drag or revhard.

I hope you blow it up. I have come to notice that taking a non-turbo car and turboing it takes alot of care, time, patience, common sense, and love. Daddy's credit card don't fall into this category.

Re: 12GS To Spend (Doodoo)
I have nothing but time and patience. My dad will pay for it and that is it. I did not want my Si on the road with an intake(no offense against N/A people)or headers all that street stuff. I want a powerful car that will suprise five point slows(5.0) and this conversion will take a while I will leave my car at motor at JUN . Tow away my car to 20/20 autobody and have the side moldings and the antenna shaved and my car is gonna be white . I will have recaros and my av system hooked up and my Mugen 17" on the car . My other car will take me to work(95 honda civic dx automatic) and I wouldnt care if it took me a long time. I did not wish you bad you shouldnt wish me bad. Hey its not my fault my dad is paying for it he insisted.

Yes it is I called Greddy and they said that only if you put on a BOV it will make it illegal because the BOV is adjustable. Ive done my research I even call CHP.They didint know nothing they just said I wouldnt be able to pass smog

Re: 12GS To Spend (BOOSTINSI)
If you are spending that much money, go with more displacement. Why not keep your B16A stroke and go with an 84.5-85mm bore. I think this will give a tad over 1.8L, and you can still rev the snot out of the engine.
>1.8L + Type R cams + 9000RPM redline = fun!
It'd just suck to spend that much on the motor and still only have 1.6L to work with. Which would be REALLY hard to get into the low 12's with the TD05 in the GReddy kit. 1.8L, bigger cams and a higher redline will make that goal much much more easily attainable.

Hey BOSTINSI, I'm not trying to be an *** but I think you need to do a little more research on what you want to do. It sounds like you're just choosing big name import parts/tuners (Greddy, JUN, Mugen) and going with that. If you truely want a 12 second Si, take your time and research what you want to do and who can help you do it. It'll save you money and will give you priceless knowledge. BTW, a Greddy intercooler is NOT CARB legal...anything beyond just the kit will make that illegal. And if you intend to build the motor for high boost, you probably won't pass the sniffer anyways. Understand what you want to do and take the appropriate means to get there. This is a good board to start with. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the only 17" Mugens I know of are the M12's (not the greatest looking wheel) and they don't make them in 4x100.
