Default 12 Second Prelude

[I posted in the Prelude forum, but feel that the Forced Induction forum would be a better place to post]

Does anyone think that the b21/b20a5 engine can be made into a streetable 12 second car without turbo?
If not, then with turbo?

(setup examples would be appreciated )

thanks!

yeah, most people go with the h22 or the h23 in their ludes. though i am trying to stay with the 3rd gen motor. the b21a1 or the b20a5 (easiest swap with very similar #'s).
any help would be appreciated. thanks!

Yeah the b20a's aren't really that good of a building ground simply because the motor itself is weak, h23 is a very good motor, and if you want hella power put an h22 head and build the motor, tuned right it would be an easy 12 sec car.

H22a has issues fitting in that car. i would recommend staying the b series route. keep researching about a b series build up...

use a B20 from a 3rd gen.... the B21s suck ***... contact http://www.ludespeed.com, they make a pretty good kit for the 3rd gen. Chris B, chris@hondaprelude.com, had a badass turbo 3rd gen, you may want to contact him as well, he know A LOT about 3rd gens

InlinePro had an old 84 Prelude they put an H22A or H23/VTEC hybrid in and the car ran low low 12's. The car was light but was a Race car, it is gone now, they sold it. Maybe Jinx can fill you in on it. ALL MOTOR btw.

that car was tube framed.....they could have done the same thing with a ford escort body.......had nothing to do with a B series engine or a old prelude realy.....everything was custom and used a H series motor

those are good cars..... if you can find a GS-R, BUY IT, those things are rare, i've only ever seen a few of them. those old LS motors hold up pretty good though, and you can replace them cheap enough, i have to agree with On Point EK!!!!!!!! b/c those are fairly esay to find, and they are B-series, 2rd gen Ludes have a B-series, but are not the same in any aspect other than the first letter.

personally IMO, find yourself a 4th gen Lude, and turbo it... i know they are heavy, but those are bigger engines, and have MUCH more potential

There is a Milano Red Mid 12 second 5th Gen Prelude that stays in Raleigh where I live. He uses a 150shot! DPR basically built his engine for him. I'm not sure what he runs without NOS. He has a killer stereo and security system though that probably adds about 100+ lbs.
