*Turbo NOOB Question*
Ive got a bone stock '90 Civic Ex. Its got a stock d16a6 with about 156k on it. I just bought a ssautochrome kit... a Ebay special. Anyways it says its a complete kit with 99% everything needed to run. My concern is the fuel management. A buddy told me that i was going to have to run a fmu. since this is my first turbo kit im not to sure about what ill need to run the car. Anyways heres a list of what the kit included, and the motor is a stock a6. Please someone help me so i can get this thing boostin....

ur gonna need intercooler piping, oil feed line, injectors, ecu/chipped..dont run an fmu just get ur things installed and take it to a shop to get it tuned asap..and hope that the turbo kit lasts you cause ssac turbo kits get mixed reviews

fmu is a "hack" it makes it so called work but is risky at low boost they have proven to work for long periods of time problem is people always want more and try to turn it up on fmu then bang! so if you can get it tuned or fmu low boost preferably 7 or less psi.
vague description there is a lot more that goes into this but im not gonna write a book. do a lil research on "Fuel Managment Unit" (fmu) or what it actually is is a rising rate fuel pressure regulator so to speak it raises fuel pressure in ration to the amount of positive pressure it see's via vacuum line coming off the intake manifold.
it gives you the more fuel you need to go with the more air the turbo puts in the ghetto way. but i cant talk **** im usin one myself till i can afford tuning

lol...that's the biggest hurdle in this setup

Forget about the FMU, man just save up for a real standalone if you can I know FMU's work and all that jazz, but I have seen a lot fail. Since you already have a egay kit the quality of your parts arent gonna be that great so..tuning will make or break this.

onyl thing that can fail is the turbo or your manifold cracks. all the rest of the stuff is fine imo. dosnt sound like your going for 350+ . just make sure u hook up the oil lines properly. not sure if u noticed but in the center section of the turbo there should be an "R" for return. IVe seen many a people forget to clock there turbo or they just didnt know they needed too
good luck on the turbo
