Default Voltage

I have a 96 honda civic with the stock d16y7.... a few weeks ago my voltage on my car started dropping fron 14 to 12 and making the car almost shut off.... what can cause this to happen.... could it be the battery going bad??? the voltage goes back up to 14 and normal driving when i start driving, but once i stop it goes back down the and car start to shake.... thanks in advance for any help

next time the car does that, rev it up and see if the voltage goes up...
