Default V-AFC Question Please.

The Basic Setup:
B16A, Drag Turbo Kit (including an High pressure/High volume inline fuel pump and Boost dependent FMU fuel regulator), 8-11psi, stock injectors, blox map bypass, A/F Gauges reading off stock O2 (don't put much stock in it), no wideband

The Issue:
The car came with an Apexi V-AFC. Currently the car randomly throws the CEL and goes into a protect mode or whatever. Restart the car and everything is fine. Definitely doesn't have the power it should (though currently I'm taking it very easy).

The Question:
I am wondering if somehow the V-AFC was reset to a base setting before I got it. All fuel adjustments are set at 0 currently, both partial and full throttle. This doesn't seem right? Is there a safe number I should set these values at until I can get tuned in about 2 weeks and sell this device? Thank you for any input.

the only way you will be able to tell is if you have a wideband. i dont know why you need an FMU if you have a vafc i think there might be some contrast there if tuning with the vafc but shouldnt be to harmful with the vafc zero'd out.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I'm not really sure why both are there either. Just sick of the cel coming on and worried about a lean condition. I know my a/f gauge isn't accurate, but it should tell me at least if I'm lean or rich, correct? If that is the case I think I hit both realms depending on conditions. Engine temp does stay cool though. Just a little past the first 1/4 mark on the gauge.

Your stock injectors can't handle boost with just an AFC. That's why the FMU is there.

It's possible the AFC is there just for show... to show RPM, TPS, etc, and that's why it's all 0'd out.

My suggestion if you want the setup to last... get bigger injectors and get real engine management.

It's possible the code is stemming from a crappy AFC wiring job. You can fix it or remove it completely.

I'm have RC 440's and plan on getting a phearable ecu (unless I find a better / more convenient deal that will get me to a dyno about 4 hours away afterward) in about 2 weeks. Just trying to do any damage control I can (if needed) until then. Waiting until I do auto-manual conversion before I get tuned.
