One question: WHY?
lowering vtec in a stockish car is guaranteed to cause a LOSS of power, especially going below 4500

I've had my vtec at 4400rpm for a smooth transition before.

Depends how the motor breaths.

The idea is to transition smoothly. Power should be a steady increase without dips or jumps in power.
