Throttle tip-in / tip-out under boost question
Just replied to your PM, glad to see you got it up and running.
Changing the ground location probably won't make a difference since you're just powering the unit and not relying on it to provide a calibrated signal to the ecu. As long as the ground is good you should be fine.
I think what I'm hearing in there is just noise or the signal clipping, it doesn't have the distinct sound of detonation. You'll know it when you hear it.
*Note: I only listened up to about the two minute mark.
BTW, vtec heads sound sooo much better than non vtec heads. Your clip makes my motor sound like a total turd, lol.

Also I agree that VTEC has a distinct sound in itself but couldn't comment on how a non-vtec sounds since ive never really heard any engine at this level till now lol
I personally hear no detonation either. A VTEC valvetrain sounds like a muttered clatter. A NON-VTEC sounds like a metallic playing card stuck in the spokes of a kid's bike. People may have different correlations, but that is what I reference it to haha. Either way, detonation is MUCH easier to pick out on a VTEC head being that the engines are typically quieter. That of course assumes more stock like valvetrain though... my Pro 2s sound like a NON-VTEC head in my opinion.
Here's another WOT clip where after 7500 the sound of static like popping/scratching became very pronounced more so than in my last clip (listen between 1:00-1:04)

Nothing about the tune was changed.
Now I'm sure you guys have probably came across this once or twice on Youtube, the "Knock Box" by WolfEMS.
Obviously the device shown above probably has a bit more refinement to it and can isolate the tones logged with better filtering, sampling, etc......
In the clips for this device, detonation sounds much like a chaotic metallic fury when sampled over the normal engine operation noise.
Is this similar to what I should expect with this simple circuit design I'm using since I'm still not keen to the exact sound of Det with this device?
On a side note, since the onset of the noise I heard was between 7500-8000k I noted that on my highcam fuel map that the injectors were a bit maxed at 78%@ 7500 and upto 83% @ 8000. Considering the AFR's are where they should be at 11.8-12:1 I didnt want to make any further changes here so I simply set the rev limiter to 7500 to prevent going over this threshold for now till I upgrade the injectors to a set of 750 ID's.

Edit* oddly what it tended to catch the most of when set to half pot was really faint fluttering of my Greddy RS BOV at midrange part-throttle when it wouldn't even let of a full WHOOSH but listening to the knock sensor is key like others here have suggested and so im more content with where its set now...
