Default Simple Stand Alone Ecu

Building a tube chassis rear engine car for autcrossing. What's the simplest stand alone setup for what I'm doing. Also do they make a simple harness to wire the factory ecu??? Thanks

Easiest way to wire in a stock ecu would be to get a complete harness and strip as necessary. Hondata is realtievely cheap for the ease of use/abilities

Megasquirt is probably cheaper but requires pretty good electrical knowledge.

I would go full stand alone route,

either AEM ( series one are super cheap) and build a custom harness or use a harness out of a car or a megasquirt

x2, but I would suggest an AEM EMS-4. It doesn't have any extra features that you don't need (since this is strictly a race car), it's still supported, and it will interface with their AQ-1 logger. They also sell a flying lead harness for it that should get you up and running pretty easily. I don't think you're going to be able to work with a pre-made harness since you're building your own chassis.

My vote to Megasquirt.

For 280 USD you can get a full MS2 kit that you need to build. It works pretty well with stock Honda sensors, reluctor, injectors and coil.

Also you can convert it to fully secuential fuel n spark.

x2 on the MegaSquirt. love it! I have two of them now!

Both have the MS3X board as well. You can never have enough control!

If you have a good working knowledge of soldering and a proper iron. You should be able to put one of these together in an evening. Everything is very well packaged and labeled. Step by step directions are also available on their website. There is a very helpful forum/PDF files for setting up al of the sensor parameters as well.

As far as wiring harnesses go. they sell them for the unit as well. All you need to do is save your connectors and solder the wires to the MS harness wires. It will allow you to eliminate a lot of wiring BS.
