Default setting up a base tune

Can anybody give me any advise on running a base tune to break in my b16a its 11.5-1 cr and has jdm type r head and valve train I know I'm suppose to take it to get it professionally tuned but I'd like to break it in before they beat it up on a dyno can I just simply run a stock tune or do I need more than that thanks for any help

look through the maps available through the smanager software, you may find one with a very similar setup. just make sure to set your injector size, and run in closed loop with an active o2 sensor to ensure af's are decent during normal driving, and proper fuel trims get set for higher throttle.

or you can just ask your tuner to make you a basemap

I'd like to be able to ask my tuner but at the moment I don't have one because I live in the middle of wisconsin and the closest shop is at least 2 hours away haha

how about you take it to your tuner and have them break the engine in properly?

A basemap file or e-tune would be your best bet:

I highly recommend getting a wideband before starting a fresh motor, even on a basemap.
