Simple sleeved, piston rod turbo 500hp GSR street car, will be on s300v3 and I'm wanting to add a few extra sensors for added protection and logging.
Firstly, can the flex sensor (OEM gm unit) be mounted in the rear near the gas tank? I'm assuming as long as its in the return line it doesn't matter really where its located. For example, GM trucks its on the frame rail under the cab...
Secondly, I've been thinking of running a coolant pressure sensor (0-5v 150psi transducer), but I'm also curious the best location to install it. I think putting it in the crossover tube (gsr), again, I assume as long as its in the coolant system itll sense whatever pressure is in the system, right?
Both flex sensor and coolant pressure sensor will be wired to the ecu via the analog inputs

There is no requirement for the flex fuel sensor to be on the return line. I saw a test somewhere that put the pressure drop at <2psi for 600lph, so unless you are making power with four digits to the left of the decimal, you are fine to put it on the feed side. Otherwise, you can really mount it wherever is convenient, but the closer to the rail it is, the more meaningful the temperature readings will be.
I mounted mine right off the bottom of my AEM fpr (on the return side lol) because it was already -6. Used a Russell 644123 SAE quick disconnect adapter on either side of the sensor and then it was about 7.5” of pushlock hose down to the return hardline on the chassis, where I used a hardline compression adapter.
for the water pressure, maybe consider running the Bosch PST-F 1. It’s a combined pressure/temp sensor, I’m using one for oil on my setup. You can also get them from efi solutions in Australia for less than half what you can find them here for.
Pressure Sensor Combined PST-F 1
Although on second thought you can’t really replace the stock coolant sensor on the s300 anyway.

i dont know if my sensor reads temp, im also not concerned with temp at this point.
i want to mount it near the tank, and keep it out of the bay for aesthetics, as long as it not going to skew the readings.
im not trying to replace the coolant temp sensor, im wanting to run a pressure sensor in my coolant system and monitor the pressure, not temp.
