Question about Actual Timing versus Table Timing
First time tuner here with a question about timing. I'm using Neptune tuning my D15B. I recreated a basemap to increase the resolution and I've got the AFs pretty much dialed in on the low cam. My question is about Table Ignition vs. Actual Ignition.
From my datalogging i can see that actual ignition exceeds table ignition by about 3 degrees and as much as 5degrees at almost all loads levels. Do I increase my table values to match actual or do i increase my table values [to match or exceed current actual] in certain areas to increase power?

Re: Question about Actual Timing versus Table Timing
You tune normally as you would on any other system. You're just now seeing what the stock ECU actually does with the table timing and adjustments.

Re: Question about Actual Timing versus Table Timing
hmmm, ok, so even if i alter the values, the ecu will always adjust based on what ever conditions exist. I do have the box checked in Parameters ->main -> options -> Ignition adjustments.

Re: Question about Actual Timing versus Table Timing
This will give you the values that are added to the table timing as the RPM increases.
So I wouldn't worry about the table vs ignition difference when tuning. It is there stock, NepTune just gives you access to the underlying rpm dwell.

Re: Question about Actual Timing versus Table Timing
So when you disable ignition adjustments in Neptune, does it ignore the ignition advance vs RPM in the dwell control section or are there other underlying adjustments getting turned off(I know it doesn't turn off IAT and ECT adjustments)?
If I disable ignition adjustments will it output table values + (IAT & ECT) only like a true standalone would?
I haven't started to mess with those features yet, just want to get a clear picture as to what is actually happening with the stock code and how Neptune handles it before I start using these features.

Re: Question about Actual Timing versus Table Timing
Ok, great.
So it does ignore the ignition advance vs rpm in the dwell section.
Would zeroing out all ignition advance vs rpm in the dwell section output the same Table + ECT + IAT + gear based?
Correct me if I'm wrong but based on my understanding now it would.
