Proper Engine temp.
Hi,
H22A I made a custom wire harness from scratch basic obd2 like harness but obd1 form "1 piece" anyway I never wired up FANC off the ecu and I notice that my fan comes on at around 203 degrees with the fan thermostat switch that's hardwired to the fan.
So is it possible for a high engine temp to cause knock? vs having the fan kick on at a lower temp say 180 degrees?
What is the proper "warmed up temp" to keep your engine at ?

The stock thermostat does open at 200. 177 is where the ECU stops throwing in fuel for ECT warm up. My GSR used to sit at 178 on the dot. You can kick on the fan early to keep the temp lower, no prob.
Allright I'll have to wire up fanc then.
Would a engine running at 200 degrees cause more knock then one running at 180? ... I guess if this is able to be answerd is the relationship between engine coolant temp and knock linear or does it seem to increase heavily past a certain point?
