Ok, just wondering if anyone has tried the OBD1 Data Logging app for the Android on their phone for a Crome chipped ECU?

Reason I am asking is that I am soon going to dive into the Wireless logging scene and just wanted to ask who has had success and failures.

Didn't know there was a wireless datalogging app at all. Want to tell me how it works? Sounds pretty cool. Not sure how my P28 sends information to my phone. What hardware is required?

Re: OBD1 data logging via Andriod
The app can be downloaded on the google play store (Honda Obd1 datalog). What I am working on is the communication between the ECU, Crome Pro and phone via bluetooth for a chipped ECU. Does not work with a stock ECU! The hardware right now is a hit, or miss since I don't have it yet (Still in the mail).

Heres the Video:

Not hit or miss at all if you go with quality components, but most people go cheap. Sparkfun has some reliable units, which is what I recommend for use with NepTune.

Then you'll get hit or miss... and part of that is the class of the bluetooth chip. That has a huge effect on power, range, and susceptibility to noise.

I got lots of emails, and some people said my app is not working. Usually the problem is the bluetooth device. I only tested the elechouse device yet, but sometimes it need set up correctly. I don't know which other one works, and which not. I ordered some other cheap bluetooth device, and i will test it.

I got the bluetooth module to work today with the andriod app. It took a while to program the bluetooth since it was a HC 06 version and not an HC 05 like the one on Electric house....maybe ill add a review of it later.

I use and promote Peter's APP with the Elechouse Bluetooth adapter here in Puerto Rico and have not had any issues.

Re: OBD1 data logging via Andriod
I've had pretty good luck with the bluesmirf chip in some projects that I have done, both for work and play.

The class of the chip absolutely matters, especially in the cabin of a car and more so if you plan on enclosing it in an ecu. The cheapo chips just won't cut it if you want reliable communication.

Re: OBD1 data logging via Andriod
From what I can understand the communication tends to receive some noise every now and then causing the data to be displayed to jump to high numbers. I am not sure if its just the bluetooth adapter but much more testing is needed considering that its the same main chip but in a different circuitry, firmware and being tested on the bench instead of an actual car.

I need a bit more tester for 2.0 beta. If you interested, you need to join to this Google+ Community: https://plus.google.com/communities/...02651317095441
Then you can join to beta testing here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing...r.hondadatalog

New features in 2.0 beta:
- Crome QD3 datalog protocol (Crome Gold)
- GPS and G sensor logging
- New gauges
- Video recording and logging same time (You can use RaceRender2, to make overlayed gauges on the video. Sample:
)
- The app make a summary file on the end of logging which contains Elapsed time, Distance, 0-100kmh (0-62mph) time, 0-402m (1/4 mile) time, Highest rpm/speed/boost, Average rpm/speed. This summary file can be uploaded to my website: http://www.linszter.net/linszterdatalog/

Hi, I wanted to know what configuration you did to the hc because I tried several and I do not find the problem of the datalog
