Default o2 sensor and closed/open loop

so after doing research I think I got it down, if I disable my o2 sensor then I have to run ewcu on open loop right? Or am I supposed to run on closed loop. I don't have any o2 sensors they are plugged.

Run in open loop all of the time (no o2 feedback)
