I have a new laptop with windows 8 and I cannot get s300 software. I go to the sight an go through the motions and then at the end it reads error

exactly. it just reads error.
I don't know if anyone has tried or was successful with the installing on windows 8

 

Hondata says Smanager supports Windows 8.

Do you have Smanager running in the background? Make sure smanager.exe is not running. And if it still doesnt work, uninstall any older versions of Smanager first.

 

Had same issue before. Uninstall older version first then install new version. Unless this is a clean install then be sure to install as administrator.

 

I don't know what it means to install as administrator

however I deleted all old versions, then rebooted and installed again. this time it installed all the way then said error. I will try to screen shot

Download the file to your desktop. After it's done, right click the file, and select "Run as Administrator." Click yes or okay or allow in the "user access control" prompt if it comes up. Install and enjoy.
