Default i have an easy question

my ecu is flashing a code and im not sure what it means. it flashes one long flash then 7 short flashes. im kinda new so im not sure.
any help would be great.

That would be a code 17. That indicates a problem with the vehicle speed sensor circuit (VSS)

No. I would say that your speedometer doesn't work becuase the VSS isn't working and that is why your getting the code. It's ether disconnected/corroded wires or no longer working properly.

ok thanks Ghostaccord for the info. do you think this is something i could figure out myself or should i take it somewhere? im not realy sure where to start so any more info you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

What year is your Accord?

If you have an Accord manual and a multimeter it should be easy enough.

i accualy dont have an accord i have a 90 civic Si with a b16a obd 0.

My bad... I'm so used to answering in the Accord forum.

Same goes for the Civic though. You should be able to find a free pdf of the Honda shop manual online for the older Civic.
