Ok so after banging my head with this burner i finally found a work around to burning SST512 chips for obd1 ecu's
Hardware overview:
· TOP 853 EEPROM Burner (ebay can be bought for 50.00 bucks)
· TOPWIN 6 (http://www.topwin6.com/tops/topwin6.exe)
· SST27SF512 EEPROMs (ebay or google search)
Lets burn that binary file to chip
Open and launch application then click file and open file. Select binary file from location

Now that you have selected your file put the Buffer start at 0800 this enabled the program to start at that hex value in the program burn to chip, for the correct offset as we are using 512 chips. Click okay. Now I would suggest to Erase and Blank the chip now.

Now burn and verify to chip. If everything was successful you'll be good to go. If you still have issues burning chips. Could be two possible issues. One the chip is bad, or two you'll need to add this line to the following file located in the TOP directory.
Edit device853.lst
add and replace the following....
Find "EEP SST SST27SF512 ,SST27SF 2"
Replace With" EEP SST SST27SF512 ,SST27SF 2,vcc=5000,dly=3"

yeah it's not compatible with windows 7, you can try running it in windows xp under a vm and may work. it's all about the stupid drivers..
will this burner work w/ other chips? i added the vcc and the dly behind it.. i have a tms27c256 chip passes blank check but when it goes to burn it says error at: 00000: (FF)
