How to advance timing without tune

How to mechanically advance timing no tune
I've got a 97 accord OBD2 auto trans I/H/E
The PCM controls timing. The bolt holes on the dizzy are not slotted.
Can I take a Dremel to the holes and make them slotted so I can turn the dizzy? Will that work?
If not, can I just stick an adjustable cam gear on it?
