Default Help with chip choice

Im looking to buy a chip kit for my mini me swapped eg sedan. Its a 93 lx with a stock b7 bottem end and z6 head. I/H/E, obx intake gasket. Ive looked at Hamotorsports.com and they offer a chip kit to chip my ecu. Or I have looked at the hondata s100. I am trying to find a cost effective solution to get my car tuned. Im a DIY'er so the more I can do and learn on my own the better. Any help I get is appreciated.

CROME is free. FYI you can buy a chipping kit but you need the software to program it. And your ECU has to be socketted. I would go with Neptune RTP. I've done a little research on it and it looks like the better option.

Or the easy route. Go to Phearable and have them program chip for you.

After reading and searching I found some stuff...
A entire tuning kit
http://www.moates.net/honda-tuning-k....html?cPath=69

Or could I just buy a chip kit and then buy this honda log and tune through the hondalog

Ok so after looking into the neptune rtp does it come with the data cable to tune using the p/c? It just shows the pic. of the hardware i think.

And when you say software your refering to crome, hondata, etc correct?
And if I can download the crome free program with its limited options, and buy the USDM Honda ECU Chip Kit, and cable would I be good to go? Esp. if in the future I couldnt get it i would wanna be able to take the above mentioned to a shop to get it tuned.

Yes, we sell the chip kit with the basemap pre-burned onto the chip.
We even have instructions/videos on our website on how to install it under our tech section.

It comes with the hardware and software to tune your vehicle. Full datalogging and real-time tuning. Check out the RTP Tutorial Videos section for videos on installation and getting started.

Moates is where it's at until you figure out that Digikey or your local micro electronics store sells all of the stuff cheaper.

Good a place as any to get started. Chris over at Xenocron.com has some good chipping and tuning tutorials to get started as well. they have more than enough base maps to start you off, they are all free. They are also an authorized Moates dealer!

You can get that ALL in one place here too:

http://www.xenocron.com/chipping-kit...cus-p-277.html

http://www.xenocron.com/datalogging-c-27.html

http://www.xenocron.com/crome-pro-license-p-303.html

Or if you are looking to be able to tune your own stuff as well a package deal that discounts everything just a little:

http://www.xenocron.com/diyer-intro-...age-p-238.html

That way you dont have to make (3) purchases...and its all the same price at our place as it is everywhere else

IF you are going to have your car tuned by someone else though, first get with them and make sure you are on the same page with your tuner, to make sure you arent buying items he already has that you might not need.

FYI, your ecu on your 93 civic lx is a non-vtec ecu. You will need to convert your ecu to vtec on top of socketing/chipping it.

If you do not have tons of soldering experience, I do not recommend you DIY.
You should mail the ecu in to have it done or buy a pre-chipped obd1 vtec ecu and sell your stock unit.
