Engine mounts & bushings
Hi all,
I have a question regarding a 2005 Civic- Took it in because it was vibrating really badly when it was stopped, in park, neutral, etc. The mechanics (at Goodyear) said it wasn't the brakes, but that the engine mounts and bushings need to be replaced. They said the engine is pretty much sitting on the frame?? Anyway, they said it would be $2,000 to fix all that. Said each engine mount is $90, and so on. I just want to make sure I'm not getting the wrong info... I had a feeling I should double check on this one because it seems REALLY expensive. I'm in the San Diego area. Thanks for any help/advice you can offer me!

$2,000 ? hahaha
For that kind of money you should take the car directly to a honda dealer.
Your best bet will be to find a shop that specializes specifically in honda/acura repair.

Thanks fot all the replies! So we took it to a private shop here in SD that specializes in Honda. It got great reviews on Yelp so gave it a shot. Yeah, turns out Midas was big time trying to rip us off. First of all, it was not nearly as bad as they had said. About a 3/4 of the things they said were broken were actually perfectly fine! $400 later, the car was fixed! We called Midas and called them out on trying to rip us off. They guy denied it, said all these things were what he saw was broken, etc etc. Funny thing is, when you read reviews of Midas, multiple people said they were ripped off there. Hmmmm
Anyway, thank you for all the info and taking the time to respond to this!
