Default ecu question

so i have a 00 em1 with a chipped and tuned obd1 ecu. as far as i know the car only has i/h/e and ctr cams. the intake is advanced 2 degrees and exhaust is retarded 2 degrees. the map that is on the ecu is the same as an itr map. the question i have is, if i were too put a stock ecu in would it effect driveablilty? im unable to pass emissions because the car runs too rich. anything helps. thanks.

Yes it will effect your drivability. I highly doubt thats an ITR base map on that ECU considering you AFR's would be pretty darn off. Try your stock P2T ecu, but it may lean it out.

and once ur done put it back in

You can't just do that right before. It will run in closed loop on a very conservative (rich) tune.
If you set your cams back to stock and run your stock ECU for a few days, it should be fine to pass.

WHY WOULD MY AFR'S BE OFF? THE CAR HAS A TUNE. AND LIKE B20EKHatch said itr maps run rich at the top end. mine does exactly that.

Why would your Air Fuels be off? Your kidding me buddy. You DO NOT have an ITR! To pass emissions it is looking for the correct HC's/ CO2/ NOx etc. I am not sure what emission laws your state has, but obviously if it is an OBD2 car it needs to be scanned. It is reading your running too rich (at idle) if its a normal emissions test here in NY. The test looks for specific numbers for the specific motor that came in that chassis. You need to do some reading and learn what your state requires to pass emissions. Don't call me out because I will make you look like a fool.

Yes most likely. OP you need to check with the previous owner on what kind of MAP is on your ecu.

If it was tuned it is most likely not anything similar to a base map and I am sure he gave you an awesome tune. Pull the ECU out that you have, replace it with the P2T ECU and see how it runs. If it runs terrible go back to SF and have him write you a more conservative base map that will allow you to pass inspection. DO you have an adjustable FPR? You may be able to get away with turning the fuel pressure down a bit.
