Default eCtune License

So I've purchased an Integra which was tuned using the previous owner's license. From what I understand the license is tied to the ostrich unit's serial number, although I'm not really sure.
Anyways, I opened up the ostrich a week or two ago and replaced the batteries due to a large amount of corrosion and one of them was bulged and split. What I didn't know is that this would erase the tune from the unit and that the car was now dead.
I tried contacting the previous owner, however he was unwilling to help me in re-activating the eCtune License so that I could get the car re-tuned.

I had to have a working car so I installed crome on the unit and managed to get crome and freelog working with my Innovate LC-1. However I've been told by many to ditch crome and get something better such as eCtune due to random issues which I'm starting to see now. I've had to re-send the tune twice now for some reason. It just seems to forget the tune or something. It's very strange.

My question is: Is there any way in which I can get the license which I bought with the car working again, or am I SOL? I'd really like to get it working on the cheap, as I'm oh-so-broke right now haha.

If the original owner of the license isn't willing to give you the license or help get you a new one. You are SOL for using eCtune unless you buy a license yourself. Ether that or take it to a registered eCtune tuner and see if there is anything they can do for you.

I don't think there are any registered tuners in my province (Newfoundland, Canada) so I guess I'll have to stick with Crome.

Crome Pro isn't all that bad if you take your time and figure it out. Crome Free and free log is a real pain in the *** to tune with. Whatever way you go just make sure you can datalog and take your time. If you are looking to spend a little bit more. I would suggest Neptune Demon over eCtune or Hondcrapa.
