Can you (when using a shipped ecu) disable VSS on an obd1 ecu?

Why would you want to do that?

You can however remove the speed limiter if thats what you wish to do.

if you are tring to get vtec to work with a obd0 car/cable speedo just set vtec to 0mph

Bingo. I may be going to install a obd1 motor/ecu in to a 87 crx. I wanted to use a obd1 ecu for better tuning options.
