datalogging cables
Hey guys, I was wondering what's the difference between the xenocron datalogging cable and the moates hulog cable. The xenocron looks like a regular usb cable with and end, the moates has the box halfway through the wiring. What's the difference? Is there a way to just take a usb cable and strip the end and solder it to fit on a header at the cn2?
As indicated by the price they are pretty much identical. They both have a component inline that will convert the RS232 signal to a TTL signals. A bare USB cable with a 4 pin header soldered on will not work as it will not convert the signals.
I have been using Moates products for over 4 years now with no issues. If I ever had any questions Craig was quick to respond and always had the right answers. I would refer Moates to anyone. However that being said, both Craig Moates and Chris Harris (Xenocron) are great guys to deal with. Both have great customer service. Chris has helped me out with a few things that I have purchased through them as well.
With a product like this you could flip a coin and be happy with ether product.

Thanks guys, it threw me for a loop because the xenocron is so streamlined I hadn't realized it had the same stuff as the moates unit. I had read on pgm-fi about making your own and noticed the ttl converter but didn't see it in the xenocron unit. Thanks for the help guys
